Who are we?
Voluntary Action Lochaber is a third-sector support organisation. This means we support not-for-profit community organisations in Lochaber - charities, companies limited by guarantee, voluntary organisations, community groups and social enterprises.
We are a delivery of agent of Highland Third Sector Interface and are based in Fort William. VAL is a charitable company limited by guarantee overseen by a Board of Directors drawn from various member organisations.
Our mission is to help the people of Lochaber improve their quality of life through voluntary action.
What do we do?
We are a resource for all things third sector in Lochaber. We provide a range of services to help the third sector thrive.
This includes support and guidance on setting up new organisations, governance support and advice, funding advice & support, independent examinations, book-keeping, payroll services, volunteer development support, conference and meeting room facilities, management accountancy, training and much more!
We also have a role to help the local third sector connect and collaborate with community planning partners.
